Skates, Support, and Community Spirit: Why We Sponsored the U11A Trappers Hockey Team

There’s something powerful about being part of a team. The early mornings, the shared wins and losses, the laughter in the locker room, and the lessons that last far beyond the rink. At Healing Connections, that sense of connection, resilience, and growth is what we’re all about—and it’s why we were proud to sponsor the U11A Trappers Hockey Team this season.

We recently received a heartfelt thank-you card and a team photo from the players, and it completely made our day. These moments remind us that healing isn’t limited to therapy sessions—it happens in communities, relationships, and shared experiences. It happens when people show up for one another.

As a mental health clinic, our mission is to support the wellness of individuals and families across the North Bay region. But we also believe in giving back in ways that extend beyond our walls. Sponsoring youth sports is one of those ways. Teams like the Trappers build confidence, teach important life skills, and offer a place where kids can belong. That’s something we believe every child deserves access to.

And let’s face it—being a part of something greater than yourself, whether on the ice or in your community, is healing in itself.

We want to extend a huge thank-you to the players, parents, and coaches of the Trappers for the dedication and heart you bring to the game. Your team spirit inspires us. Watching these young athletes play with courage and joy is a beautiful reminder of why showing up matters—not just in sport, but in life.

When you choose to support local mental health care, you’re also helping us reinvest in the community we all call home. Whether it’s sponsoring local teams, offering free community events, or expanding access to mental health services, our goal is always the same: to foster a community where everyone has a chance to thrive.

We’re proud of the Trappers, and we’re proud to play a small part in their journey this season.

Here’s to connection, community, and skating toward something stronger—together.

With gratitude,

Miranda & the Healing Connections Team
