Operational Resiliency Protocol (ORP): Free & Accessible Training for First Responders in 2026

By Miranda Arellano, RP — EMDR Certified Therapist & EMDRIA Approved Consultant, Clinical Director, Healing Connections Psychotherapy

As 2025 comes to a close and we step into a new year, many First Responders are carrying the weight of another twelve months of calls, crises, community demands, and constant readiness. The pace rarely slows, and the expectations never lessen — even though the nervous system often begs for a chance to reset.

At Healing Connections, we see this clearly. We witness the toll that front-line work can have on the body, the mind, relationships, and long-term health. And we also see the strength, commitment, and grit behind every uniform.

That’s why, throughout 2026, we are offering the Operational Resiliency Protocol (ORP) training in two accessible formats:

⭐ FREE In-Person ORP Training (North Bay)

⭐ Low-Cost Virtual ORP Training ($40 per participant)

Our mission is simple: Make frontline wellness tools accessible, practical, and built for the real world of First Responder life.

What Is the Operational Resiliency Protocol (ORP)?

The ORP is a trauma-informed, neuroscience-based framework developed specifically for First Responders — Fire, Police, EMS, Corrections, Dispatch, and Military.

The protocol focuses on tools that support:

  • Emotional regulation during high-stress events

  • Operational grounding while on scene

  • Faster recovery after difficult calls

  • Cumulative stress reduction

  • Long-term resiliency and readiness

  • Improved team connection and support

Every strategy taught in ORP is designed to be practical, time-efficient, and usable in the flow of emergency work — not just in a therapy room.

Why This Matters Now

Frontline workers face layers of stress that the general public rarely sees. Chronic hypervigilance, moral injury, organizational pressures, sleep disruption, trauma exposure, and the constant responsibility to be available at any moment all take a toll on the nervous system.

Resiliency isn’t built by ignoring the impact — it’s built by understanding how the body responds to stress and learning how to intervene.

ORP provides the “how.”
